A native New Yorker, graduate of the Upper West Side's Mannes College of Music, and proud resident of Inwood in Upper Manhattan, Christopher Bruckman enjoys a varied career in the performing arts from English Morris dancing to opera conducting. As a solo pianist, Christopher has performed at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center's Kaplan Penthouse, and Riverdale's beautiful Wave Hill Botanical Garden on the Hudson. As an accompanist, he happily collaborates with Pied Piper Children's Theater, Delphi Theatre, Stony Hill Players, Christopher Caines Dance Company, Riedel Dance Theater, and Nimbus Dance Works. This season he was honoured to be named the first Resident Artist pianist/coach at Opera Company of Brooklyn, and recently completed a one-year term as chief organist / choir director at Church of the Mediator in the Bronx. As an actor, Christopher has played the Prince in Romeo & Juliet, Kaspar in Amahl & the Night Visitors, and Trebonius/Cinna the Poet/Titinius in Julius Caesar. He is also an advocate of new music, working as a consultant to composers, a musical engraver, and an editor of first edition scores. When away from "work", Christopher enjoys cooking local food, bird watching (& bird listening!), going to the opera, and travelling to Switzerland.
